IBProgramme

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is an international education programme for students aged 16 – 19, taking the last two years of study in the Polish High School.

The DP curriculum is made up of six subject groups and IB Diploma students must select one subject from each of the groups. The subjects are selected from standard level (SL) or higher level (HL), which allows students to develop their skills and interests.

Subjects groups

At least three subjects have to be completed at the higher level as the IB Programme aims to provide students with multi-dimensional aspects of education and personal development.

Teaching and learning takes place in English in small groups. The programme finishes with students sitting an external examination , and after successfully passing the exams, allows them to apply for the world’s top universities.

Components of IB Programme

TOK

In Theory of Knowledge, students investigate the nature of knowledge and its sources. In this course students are required to write an essay of 1200 – 1600 words on the topic provided by the examination board and to deliver a TOK exhibition.

EXTENDED ESSAY

It is an extended piece of research paper presented in an academic style.

CAS

Creativity, Action, Service – a project that supports student development of creativity through physical exercise, and experiential learning through community engagement.

In order to be eligible to study Visual Arts, prospective students are required to submit 5 examples
of their own pieces of art, as well as to submit a 200 words motivation letter justifying their choice.
